The Inspecter 7
Ska band formed in New Brunswick, New Jersey,
in 1992. They originally played shows under the name, 'Agent 86' until
late 1993, when they renamed themselves, '"Inspecter 7." With a sound
that combined all three waves of Ska (Traditional, 2-Tone and 3rd Wave)
Inspecter 7 became a fixture in the New York City ska scene throughout
the mid 1990's. After releasing a 7-inch on Moon Ska Records,
and appearing on several compilation albums, including all three
volumes of the 'Oi: Skampilation' series, the band signed to NYC's
Radical Records and began extensive east coast touring. That year they
released their first full length CD, 'The Infamous' which received
positive reviews. In 1998, Inspecter 7 toured nationally with Moon Ska
Recording artists The Skoidats. Over the years, they shared the stage with legendary ska acts, Bad Manners, The Mighty Mighty Bosstones, Mephiskapheles, The Skatalites,
and many others. By 2003 the band dissolved and many of its members
including vocalist, Reverend T. Sinister, went on to form a similar
style band, Hub City Stompers, and are still active today.
